👀 Use familiar interfaces to capture attention

How using Apple Notes, ChatGPT, and Google screens can skyrocket your ad performance.

SaaS Strategists,

If someone asked you to show them your Google search history in 2010, you’d probably protect it with your life. 🔪

Today, the same principle applies to ChatGPT.

We’re all a tiny bit curious about what other people are searching online. 👀

So here’s how to leverage this psychological effect to your advantage. 👇️

Using familiar interfaces to capture attention

Most of your ad creatives will fail if you use vague messaging.

However, that doesn’t have to be the case if you just slam it on a familiar background. 🎨

I’ve written a post about attaching a familiar face to your SaaS product before.

Simply use interfaces people already trust. 📱

When an ad looks like something your brain sees daily, the pattern recognition triggers.

You pause. You read. You click.

Here are 3 high-performing formats that use familiar interfaces and why they work so well.

ChatGPT UI Ad 🤖

By now, everyone is familiar with the ChatGPT interface.

And let’s be real - we’re all a bit curious about others’ ChatGPT or Google search history. 😅

So when you see an interface like this, I’m 99% you’d stop scrolling.

Apple Notes Ad 🗒️

I'm honestly shocked that Apple Notes ads still work so well.

It was a very big trend in 2023, but apparently, it still sticks.

Morning Brew uses this example a lot.

Google Search Ad 🔍

Fiverr nailed their ad using Google as a “scrollstopper”.

iMessage Ad 📱

Why this ad works so well is simply because it looks real. 🌍

A seamless conversation.

You don’t feel like you’re being sold. You feel like you’re reading a genuine conversation.

Brilliant.

Be creative with what people are already used to.

I’ll catch you in the next one!
